Questions & Answers

Common Questions & Answers Regarding Our 3D Manufacturing Options.

We use three types of 3D Scanners: white light, blue laser scanners & Macro.

Yes, we do provide onsite scanning services. However, there would be a price difference between you sending your parts to us and us travelling to site & potential overnight expenses etc. Please contact us to clarify and additional queries you may have.

Yes, you can use either, or both services. We are not responsible for the accuracy of external scan data but will provide you with a scan to CAD deviation report.

We are able to produce data in a variety of formats including Step, STL, IGES, Solidworks, Soliedge, and Geomagic Essential. We can also produce 2D detailed manufacturing drawings for your reverse engineered parts as well.

We can scan parts as small as 25mm /-1 inch to something as large as 15 feet long.

A 3D Scan is a digital/electronic file of the information collected by the 3D Scanner in the form of a mesh or point cloud.

A 3D Print is a three-dimensional object created using additive manufacturing process either from CAD or 3D scanned data.

Sometimes it’s possible to create watertight data from the raw scan data, but usually there will be a requirement to carry out post processing to clean and make the data what’s known as watertight. This is so that the printing software can process the model and calculate & support material.

This will depend on our current workload. We will give you an approximate completion date but this can change when circumstances are outside of our control.
